The invention has three significant components (folding secure containers, locating, and securing the device control unit). The interdependency of the three components contributes to enabling the invention to deliver its primary function which is to facilitate the guaranteed and efficient delivery of parcels to multiple-end of delivery cycle locations. The esibox securing mechanisms are operated by the associated software application which has multiple functionalities making it a home logistics platform.
Component 1 of the esibox home locker is a folding locker which will securely house the delivery of parcels / goods up to a cubic capacity of .06 of a cubic metre. (Equivalent to 6 adult men’s shoe boxes.) Overall dimensions 550mm x 400mm x 300mm. The esibox home locker is designed to reversibly fold to a size that facilitates compact storage when not in use. The esibox home locker will be constructed of high-density polyethylene and will be designed in such a way that when fully assembled the components interact to provide an interlocking secure assembled container. The esibox home locker has been designed to enable simple and fast removal from its secure point of use position and upon completion of receipt of parcels / goods will quickly be folded to flat pack mode to enable simple and unobtrusive storage. The esibox home locker will require no tooling to either assemble, disassemble or to secure the esibox home locker at its point of use. Once fully assembled the esibox home locker will be predominantly accessed for content and removal electronically. The esibox home locker will be waterproof to an IP rating of 11.
Component 2 of the esibox home locker is a securing device which will allow the parcel / goods recipient to locate and secure the esibox home locker as described in point 1. The locating and securing device will be pre fixed to the esibox home locker as described in point 1. Existing apertures usually in the form of letter plate openings will be utilized to position the locating and securing device and the associated esibox home locker as described in point 1. The locating and securing device will be constructed in such a way as to allow telescopic adjustment to prevent the esibox home locker as described in point 1 from unwarranted movement. The esibox home locker securing device shall be constructed from aluminium.
* An alternative securing method will be provided for permanent securing requirements to multiple substrates. This will be in the form of 2 No. aluminium brackets which will be mechanically fixed to multiple substrates. Components 2 and 3 are compatible to both securing methods. The alternative securing method will facilitate a variation in the manufactured size of the esibox home locker.
Component 3 of the esibox home locker is the electronic master control unit and effecting door release. There will be a master control unit. This unit will be the minimum required to facilitate the basic box functions. The means of access and locking will be by means of an external bar code. This bar code will be linked to a central data base where all delivery boxes will be registered, each with a unique code. The code will be linked to the owner's address, together with any special requirements which the owner has stated concerning its location and access parameters.
